Herbert G. Dorsey III started researching the "New World Order" in the early 1990s after President George H. W. Bush mentioned the Fascist sounding "Order" in several of his speeches. By 2014, he had discovered enough to publish The Secret History of the New World Order. Later the same year, he also published Secret Science and the Secret Space Program based on other researches. Now, in this book, he focuses on the CIA.

A good expose of CIA crimes and terrorism.

CIA: Crime Incorporated of America is fascinating reading! Not only does Herbert Dorsey give a historical outline of the powerful and secret organizations behind the creation and operation of the CIA, he makes a powerful case that the CIA is actually secretly, run from the Vatican rather than the U.S. Presidency. If the U.S. President ran the CIA, President John F. Kennedy would never have been assassinated.
Many, including myself, have already known that the CIA assassinates people and traffics in illegal narcotics, as many other researchers have written many books on this subject. This book gives even more detail while naming names of the people and criminal organizations involved. However, even worse, Herbert Dorsey demonstrates that the CIA also secretly backs terrorist groups to carry out their covert agendas, as they did in Afghanistan, Yugoslavia, Libya and now Syria. ISIS is just another CIA operation.
This book is recommended reading for those of you that want to know what is really going on with our secret government.

What is going on inside the CIA

very well written and researched, reads like a Dan Brown novel, hard to put down once I started reading it. Very exciting reading. I have always know that there are secret agendas, but Herbert has shown me what really is going on inside governments and their secret agencies. This is no conspiracy theory but the truth of what is going on. A must read for anybody who wants to know the truth.

Jamaica Kincaid beautifully delineates hatred and fear, because she knows they are often a step away from love and obsession. At the start of Annie John, her 10-year-old heroine is engulfed in family happiness and safety. Though Annie loves her father, she is all eyes for her mother. When she is almost 12, however, the idyll ends and she falls into deep disfavor. This inexplicable loss mars both lives, as each grows adept at public falsity and silent betrayal. The pattern is set, and extended: "And now I started a new series of betrayals of people and things I would have sworn only minutes before to die for." In front of Annie's father and the world, "We were politeness and kindness and love and laughter." Alone they are linked in loathing. Annie tries to imagine herself as someone in a book--an orphan or a girl with a wicked stepmother. The trouble is, she finds, those characters' lives always end happily. Luckily for us, though not perhaps for her alter ego, Kincaid is too truthful a writer to provide such a finale.

Jamaica Kincaid, born in St. John's, Antigua, is the author of short stories, novels, and nonfiction. Her 2013 novel See Now Then was a New York Times bestseller. A former reporter for the New Yorker magazine, she is a professor of literature at Claremont-McKenna College in California.

A novel of adolescent alienation and familial separation.

Annie John tells the tale of a family's disintegration. Told from the perspective of Annie, 10 when the novel starts and in young adulthood by its end, the story revolves around Annie's transformation from an adoring, obedient child to rebellious, hardheaded outcast within her own home. It's a classic mother-daughter love-hate tale where balance is somehow lost and animosity and divisiveness come to rule the day.
The story is rendered in a series of 8 chapters that effectively amount to a sequence of interrelated short stories each of which highlights and incident and/or event that stands as a critical turning point in the mother-daughter relationship.
The story is set in Antigua. This, along with the prosaic quality of Annie's narrative voice, add an element of the exotic to the story. It also provides the basis for the inflexible social structure that locks the combatants into rigid stances from which, ultimately, they cannot extricate themselves.
The book is well written and progresses in a stately and unrushed manner. It's not the sort of book you pick up and can't put down. In point of fact, I found I tended to put it down after every chapter-the short story effect lent itself to such a reading style and, as each chapter amounts to a major point in the story, that gave me a chance to assimilate and assess the story tot hat point. I found the book intellectually stimulating but I can easily see how someone not really gripped by the story could call this work boring, as quite a few previous reviewers have.
On the whole I found it a unique and interesting reading experience that, in retrospect, ought to have been somewhat depressing, yet wasn't.
On the whole, an intriguing book.

maybe only adults can bear to look back

Annie John is about a daughter in the throes of conflict with her mother. She is finding out about mortality and sexuality and that her mother regards her as rival for her father's attention.
When a group of high school students read this book in my class eight years ago, the boys in the back row all whined about reading "girl stuff." Presumedly they're older now and would have some interest in the struggles of their mothers, daughters, sisters, and lovers... not to mention themselves. After all, don't we all go through a period of gaining vision and resenting it simultaneously?
I was caught with the opening scene, Annie John sees people dressed in black and some in white bobbing in the distance. What is it? she asks her mother, who tells her it must be the funeral of a child since such burials are always held in the morning. "Until then, I had not known that children could die."

Awesome for grad students

I bought this book for my Macroeconomics course for my MBA. The book is really good since it covers all aspects related with GDP, business cycles, monetary and fiscal policies, inflation and unemployment, and so on. It's an easy reading, with recent information and data not only from US but also from other countries. Must read for those who are interested in business.

I'm reviewing this because I'm so angry I wasted my $3.99. I really hate these romance novels that end up having hardly any romance and instead center on the villain. I mean, I'm reading a romance for a better emotion than anger/irritation throughout the book. I'd more accurately say the book is about Rachel instead of it being about Leah and the Duke and its central theme is maliciousness and evil rather than romance.
It's fine to have a conflict, some evil person etc but please don't make the story completely about him/her cos there is then no point in the romance. I've read hundreds of romance novels with jealous women/evil characters etc that manage to insert them without taking center stage and relegating the romance to a corner.

A classic, a must read!

The City and the Pillar by Gore Vidal

The book opens in the present - sometime in the late 1940's in a bar where men looked for men - and the protagonist, Jim Willard, has a flashback of his life.

Jim Willard, a junior in high school in the late 1930's in a small town in Virginia, is the oldest of three children in a marriage that could best be described as cold. He's a very good tennis player but is not popular with the girls - not because he's ugly - he's a beautiful blond and muscular man - but rather because he's secretly in love with Bob Ford. Just as Bob is going to graduate from high school, Jim and Bob go camping to a secluded cabin in the woods and they have sex. Jim is infatuated with Bob for life.

Bob decides he wants to sail: he joins the Merchant Marine and even though he writes to Jim for a short while, Bob practically disappears from Jim's life. Trying to find Bob, Jim goes to New York City with $75 in his pocket. Out of money and unable to find Bob, Jim becomes a cabin boy on a cruise ship. Jim sails all over the world until he's exposed by a fellow cabin boy, Collins, who calls him queer after Jim is unable to have sex with a woman.

After this episode, Jim settles in L. A. where he becomes a tennis instructor at the Garden Hotel in Beverly Hills. He is introduced to the famous actor Ronald Shaw by Leaper, one of the bellhops at the hotel, and starts an affair with Mr. Shaw.

Jim can't bring himself to love Mr. Shaw - he's still in love with Bob. Their affair is ended when Jim meets the writer Paul Sullivan who is in his late twenties. Jim is drawn to Paul because he seems so different from the other, more stereotypical homosexuals he meets at Hollywood parties. Bob had married once - although he never consummated the marriage.

Again, Jim can't love Paul because he's still in love with Bob. Jim considers Paul adequate for the time being. Paul however, needing some pain in his relationships for artistic inspiration, introduces Jim to Maria Verlaine, who seems to specialize in seducing homosexuals, hoping his relationship will end in a suitably tragic way. Together, the three go to Yucat�n, where Maria has to settle an inheritance. Jim actually falls in love with Maria, but he is unable to perform sexually. They remain good friends: lovers in every way but the physical part.

This affair is broken up by WWII. Both Paul and Jim enlist. Jim gets transferred to a Colorado Air Force base, where he must deal with his sexuality. Bob ends up as a war correspondent. Due to the cold Colorado weather, Jim contracts a severe case of Strep throat which almost kills him. This leads to rheumatoid arthritis and a honorable discharge with disability benefits.

Jim goes back to New York, where he meets Maria and Ronald again. Ronald has been forced to marry a lesbian, Calla Petra, by studio executives to uphold his public image and tries unsuccessfully to become a stage actor. He also introduces Jim to his local friends like the effeminate millionaire, Nicholas J. Rolloson (Rolly) . Rolly has frequent parties where he celebrates his two passions: modern art and the military.

Jim begins frequenting gay bars to find sexual relief. Later, he meets Paul at a party and the two start an open relationship, not because of passion, but out of loneliness.

In the meantime, Jim's father dies and Bob marries his childhood sweetheart, Sally Mergendall. When Jim finally goes home for Christmas, Jim meets with Bob. Jim is very excited and determined to win Bob back. Jim realizes that Sally wants Bob to settle down and leave the Merchant Marine, but Bob doesn't want to settle down. Jim arranges an appointment with Bob on his next stop in New York, hoping their affair can resume.

The resolution of their relationship comes in New York, where they end up on the bed in Bob's hotel room after an all night out drinking. When Jim finally thinks he has attained what he wants, he moves closer. Grabbing Bob's "sex", he panics. Bob is outraged to be thought of as gay, and punches Jim in the face. The two struggle and Jim wins because he is stronger. Jim is infuriated enough to murder Bob but settles on raping Bob and then leaves the room. He then resumes a loveless life...

Considering Gore Vidal wrote the novel in 1948 and it chronicles this nomadic journey of a young gay man, Jim Willard, is, in itself, quite remarkable. The book became an International bestseller, catapulted Vidal into the literary mainstream and gave him carte blanche into the pithy arena of politics and swanky social observation. A romantic crush on a high-school sweetheart, a stolen, sexual encounter in a hidden oasis sets the novel off and Jim Willard searches the world to regain that precious remembered moment. Time, faces, men and women all seem insignificant, a coping mechanism to occupy space and time on this romantic quest of idealized love. Will Jim find it? Will Jim’s journey ultimately end happily ever after? Can he rekindle the fantasy that has kept him hostage? No, but what Vidal does reveal in quiet gusto is our innate ability of a species to use. The characters Jim wades through to get to his means become a sad, blank, cardboard cast. Love becomes usury – a painful itch to scratch – in the meantime. The faces and bodies and personalities are either stereotypically charming, offensive, movie-star good-looking, or just plain putrid…and beauty, at any level, will always win out. With a price. There are no free lunches in The City and the Pillar. On a grander scope: the deprivation of a connected spiritual inner journey versus the immediate and compulsive urges of the flesh. It is obvious which side wins out.

Both historically, and at face value,

I found this to be a fine book. The prose is spare, lean, direct--much like Jim, its protagonist. It does not have the eloquence or depth of Vidal's later work, but it doesn't TRY to--it stays within itself. The official amazon.com reviwer has said not to read it for the sex, and this is of course true. The only sex scene actually described is described metaphorically, but so beautifully as to inspire Thomas Mann to call it (in the word of one translator) "glorious." Vidal himself uses a more modest word in translating Mann's diary entry, though he's very proud that Mann credited this book with inspiring him to take up "Felix Krull" again.

The book is NOTHING like "Brokeback Miountain," either the movie or the short story. Although Jim resists for a time thinking of himself as gay, and spends the years between 17 and 22 on a quest for the lost love with whom he spent most of a weekend having sex near an abandoned slave cabin close to their homes in a small Virginia town, this quest is interrupted by fairly long-term relatioships with other men, whom he meets after 'going to sea," following in the foosteps of that lost love. The Hollywood actor and the sweet but not very successful writer, in Hollywood, New Orleans and further south--and then again in New York City, where he meets both again, provide an interesting and very realistic sounding mileau for a young gay man on the loose in 1946 and shortly thereafter. He never has sex with a woman, and quits trying after one attempt with a woman he's very fond of.

The end of his quest--and I read the revised, less "black" version--made me scream "Oh no!" But after thinking about it a while, I shouldn't have been surprised.

Great Book from Start to Finish!!

I bought a large number of these titles for my husband (fiance' at the time) as a gift because he mentioned being a fan of this author's original series of books. He has verbalized that he thoroughly enjoyed all of the titles in the series so I will pretty much copy/paste this review on all of the titles. He fully recommends all the ones written by the actual author. He does not feel the same about the ones apparently written by the heirs of his publishing projects, but all books we will be commenting on, he enjoyed and thinks any fan of western literature would enjoy them as well.

This is the book that started the Jaime Ian Mac series and the best one. One of my favorite books of all time. I've read all the books in this series but I've read the first 4 several times.

Outstanding Read

I enjoy reading very much and I'm always looking for new authors and different stories. I decided to look for a good western story and investigated which were the best western authors. William Johnstone came highly recommended and I was not disappointed. I'm so glad I selected the Eagle series to begin with. I had no idea this book would be linked to so much history (the Alamo) and historical characters I was familiar with (Crocket, Bowie, etc.) It just added to the enjoyment of reading this book. I found the adventures of Jamie MacAllister growing from a small boy to a family man engrossing and very entertaining. The story and action reminded me of the western movies and comic books I enjoyed as a boy years ago. I look forward to reading more about Jamie MacAllister as well as other William Johnstone books.

Informative survey

This book helped me build my understanding of Oceanic arts as I wrote my undergraduate thesis. As this field is still limited in publications, this would be fundamental piece of literature in anyone's survey of the topic.
