but DO NOT buy the KINDLE version!!!

the book itself is great! should i have had the option i would have rated it with five stars!
however, the problem is that the "kindle edition" is actually a scan of the original book with subsequent not very good character recognition. including that some original pages have smuggled into it. afterwards nobody edited it and this is the result. you have badly recognized characters on each page, which is extremely disturbing when reading.
i am trying to get refunded but... so far unseccessfully.

a trip through electric ladyland

this is a truly amazing representation of the works of jimi hendrix. i played the tabs right along with the music and it matches perfectly for the most part. of course there are always a few discrepencies, but no one can or ever will be able to match what the rock 'n roll gypsy himself did, especially not on paper. i would recommend anyone who is interested in learning to play like hendrix to try this book out. with the tablature it makes it easy for players at almost any level, from novice to advanced, to learn how to play jimi hendrix's greatest works

This is the closest guitar tablature book note for note that I have come across in a long time. Electric Ladyland is truely one of jimi hendrix's biggest accomplishments by all means. And I feel every guitarist should try to pick up some of hendrix's best works including Voodoo Chile (slight return). After I learned most of the songs in this book I got much better at guitar..........carying my guitar solo's much longer and performing much better LIVE. This also made me a better blues player with the performence of Voodoo Chile the long blues version. Their are many pictures in this book as well as the lyrics included. This book does not include the CD so you would have to purchase that before you bought the book. Everyone can play their best with this jimi hendrix's electric ladyland-guitar tablature.

1983... A merman I did not turn to be...but I did some SCUBA!

Jimi Hendrix was a composer who used musical overlays to create the songs on his albums. Many musical tracks were combined to form the final product. These overlays are evident in this songbook. Reading the guitar tab parts is like trying to read the musical score for an orchestral arrangement. The tabs for the guitar parts are layered so you can follow the note arrangements for a particular part, but if you are trying to re-create the musical flow, you have to "jump" from tab line to tab line. This can be difficult if you are not fluent in reading tab signature for guitar. The learning curve for technique can be difficult for all but the more advanced guitarist.
I have learned a number of the songs in this book to where I am happy with the results, but the amount of time that it took to get there may have been better applied to books that teach blues method or lead guitar methods rather than to try to pick them up from this book.
That said, this book shows the mastery of technique over a wide range of musical style. One of my favorite albums... one of my favorite music books.
Remember that Jimi Hendrix played a right handed guitar with his left hand. This makes a big difference in attack form, hammers and rolls on the strings.

HIGHLY Recommend Evangelist Marketing

I highly recommend Alex Goldfayn's book, Evangelist Marketing. While the primary focus of the book is successful marketing in the consumer electronics industry, the majority of Goldfayn's advice is equally applicable to B2B. For example, when you examine marketing communications, most lead with the company and the product, as well as features and specifications. Many times these communications are written by engineers who are brilliant at building great products, but lack the necessary marketing skills to effectively translate how they will make the consumer's life better. This is equally true in B2B. Goldfayn helps connect the dots by providing analysis and recommendations for many of these communications. He also provides several examples of best-in-class marketing from companies like Amazon, Apple and Netflix to further illustrate his key points. I highly recommend this book because it truly makes you think (and re-think) how you are communicating to your customers. In fact, I literally stopped readying and started revising a marketing message during one of the many light-bulb moments that I experienced. Evangelist Marketing is a great read.

Interesting for the tech savvy

I bought this book basically because I was persuaded by some ads, tips from colleagues and the mention of the computer giant companies. I'm not disappointed, although I have this felling the book was not for me. I was provided with enough information to get entertained along the reading of the book, but apart from the amusement, it is still written for owners of compute-related companies. For those whose curiosity brought them here, you will still have the feeling you are reading something which was meant for someone else.

Great insight, great read!

The insight into marketing and the logic of marketing provided in this book may be centered around companies whose business is technology driven, but I found the insight to be extremely relevant for someone whose work is not focused on technology (even though technology touches each of us just about every second of our lives). I have known Alex for a long time and observed his evolution as a critic, advisor and thinker, and I have to say that this edition does not disappoint! Can't wait to see how the world of evangelical marketing has evolved when the next edition/tome is released.

About the Author

Jay D. White is the Reynolds Professor of Public Affairs and Community Service at the University of Nebraska–Omaha. He teaches master’s courses in managing information, organizational behavior and development, and human resource management; and doctoral seminars in the philosophy of science and advanced public management theory. He is the author of numerous scholarly articles, book chapters, and books in public administration. He is a former Fulbright Scholar at the University of Leiden in the Netherlands.

To some extent this is an interesting book, but on the other hand
it has its - even disturbing - weaknesses, e.g. far too many
acronyms, which deteriorate this book's usability and readability.
